Next Gen Places is a non-profit neighborhood development firm committed to revitalizing Charlotte through strategic planning and community engagement.
Our transformative journey began in 2001 with the historic Atrium building in South End Charlotte. Starting with a single tenant, we implemented a comprehensive revitalization strategy, including property enhancements, lease negotiations, and tenant consulting. This led to significant growth and increased property value.
Through a series of strategic sales, the Atrium building ultimately realized a 10x return on investment, culminating in its sale to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for $18 million. This significant achievement not only generated substantial funds for future community initiatives but also revitalized a key urban location, contributing to the overall growth and prosperity of Charlotte.
